We are in the lodging business, but we are a guesthouse and a cheap lodging.
The concept is not “luxury” or “extraordinary,
The hotel's motto is “Live Like You Live.
What's the difference?
Some may think that this is not the case, but it is not at all.
It's also different in scale as an accommodation facility,
The services offered are also different.
So, of course, there are different price points,
I believe there is a difference in the target clientele.

What we offer
At Guest House Watabagi,
We provide “safe” and “clean” beds at “low cost.
We do not provide excessive services.
We aim to create simple and smart accommodations.
It is not a luxury hotel.
It is also different from a typical hotel or inn.
Of course, this is why we are able to keep prices down.
If you come here imagining hotel or ryokan service, you may not be satisfied.
We provide “safe” and “clean” beds and simple mechanisms that are commensurate with the price.

An unspecified number of people stay at Guest House Watasagi.
The main accommodation type is mixed dormitory (private rooms are also available).
This is not an uncommon form of travel for the seasoned traveler, but many people are unfamiliar with it.
Some people may be concerned about crime prevention and security.
However, the people who stay here are gentlemen and ladies, and many of them know the manners of travelers, so there are no quarrels or disputes among the guests.
Everyone, regardless of race or nationality, is warm, giving, and well mannered.
In fact, I have the impression that those who stay only because they are cheap and are not accustomed to traveling are the ones with the worst manners.
I understand that this is because they are used in the same way as hotels and inns.
(By the way, so far we have been blessed with good people staying at Watasagi, so don't worry 💕)
Guests who demand excessive service or excessive personal space may not be satisfied with our facility.
I sincerely hope that such a person will spend like a king in a luxury hotel.

However, this does not mean that crime prevention and security are not considered at all at our facility.
We have not introduced such things as subscription to a certain security company because of the expense involved, but we have taken reasonable steps to deal with the situation.
We ask all guests to cooperate with us and make sure to provide us with identification for each guest.
We do not require this level of service from ordinary hotels and inns, but we believe that because of this system, everyone can stay at the hotel with peace of mind.
So far, no one who stays at our facility has refused to do so.
Because of this system, young women traveling alone and those with small children are able to stay at the hotel with peace of mind.
We also believe that residents of the neighborhood will feel safer if they know what kind of people are coming and going.
Tsuruoka City in Yamagata Prefecture is a small city, very rural and closed.
I feel that they are very wary of strangers, and I don't need to tell you how wary they are of foreigners.
So that both local residents and tourists can feel comfortable coming and going, we tell them that we know the personal information of everyone who stays at our facility. (Of course, since this is personal information, we do not disclose personal information!)
There are other things we do for security purposes, but we would not be able to disclose many of them because it would weaken our security.

However, we offer clean and safe sleeping accommodations that are commensurate with the inexpensive price.
There is no superlative service and no superlative security.
A certain level of safety and security is ensured, but no more and no less.
In order to keep accommodation prices low, we cannot spend the same expenses as hotels and inns, so to some extent we have to rely on the conscience and common sense of our guests.
The presence of guests with bad manners and no common sense may make it impossible to operate in this area and may make it difficult to provide inexpensive sleeping accommodations.
We ask all guests to act according to common sense.
The customer is not God.

They are “people” who can follow manners and rules.
We are not asking for excessive manners or rules.
