Hagurosan Shrine

Mt. Hagurosan, located in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, is one of the three Dewa Mountains and is a power spot that cannot be missed when sightseeing in Yamagata.

There is a five-storied pagoda that is a national treasure, and the cedar trees that line both sides of the stone steps have been awarded three stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japon.

At the top of the mountain is the Sanjingo Shrine, which has been designated as a nationally important cultural property. The three deities of Mt. Gassan, Mt. Haguro, and Mt. Yudono are enshrined in this magnificent building.

The Sanjin Gosaiden is a building that enshrines the gods of the three mountains known as the Dewa Sanzan: Mt. Gassan, Mt. Haguro, and Mt.
