CONTENTS.

The annual “Daisen New Brew of Sake Festival” will be held again this year in the Daisen area of Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture in the bitter cold of 2025. It is a popular event that attracts fans from all over Japan. Today, we will introduce the charm of the Daisen New Brew of Sake Festival and how to enjoy it.

What is oyama new brew of sake festival?

The Oyama new brew of sake festival is a special occasion when four long-established sake breweries in the Oyama area (Haneda Shuzo, Watarai Honten, Fuji Shuzo, and Kato Kahachiro Shuzo) present their new brew of sake at the same time. Participants will have the luxury of tasting the new brew of sake while touring each brewery.
Tickets sell out early every year and are so popular that they have become platinum tickets!

  • Date: Saturday, February 22, 2025

  • Time: 12:00 - 15:00 (last admission 14:50)

  • Participating breweries: 4

  • Admission: 3,000 yen for advance tickets, 3,500 yen at the door

 

Attractions of each of the four breweries

1. Haneida Sake Brewery

At the new brew of sake festival, you can take a tour of the brewery and enjoy freshly pressed new sake.

2.watanabe Sake Brewery

A long-established sake brewery that has been in operation since the Edo period (1603-1868), it has passed down traditional sake brewing techniques to the present day. The brewery still retains historical tools and buildings, and a tour is one of the highlights of the visit.

3.fuji Sake Brewery

The brewery is known for brewing sake using local rice and water, and at the new brew of sake festival, limited new brew of sake that cannot be tasted normally will be offered.

4.kato Sake Brewery

At the “new brew of sake” festival, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the brewery's philosophy through dialogue with the brewers.
