Spring through Autumn (April–November)
Outside of winter, there's no organized bus tour, so you'll need to make your own way using public transport.
Public Transport (Train + Bus)
From Tsuruoka Station, take the JR Uetsu Line to Amarume, transfer to the Rikuu West Line to Shinjo, then board the Ou Main Line to Oishida Station (approx. 2h15m to 2h52m). From Oishida, a local bus runs to Daisho Roman-kan (about 15 min), where you connect to a shuttle bus (500 yen round trip) to the onsen village — about 40 minutes. Total: roughly 3 to 3.5 hours from Watausagi.約3〜3.5時間です。

Driving
By car, Ginzan Onsen is about 2 hours from Tsuruoka. Note that private vehicles are currently restricted from entering the onsen village directly (park-and-ride system in effect). You will park at a designated lot and take the shuttle bus in. That said, driving is still far more flexible than public transport.
